Message sent to UKFN mailing list
UKFN weekly round-up 17/1/19
If you would like to circulate a brief message to the UKFN mailing list, you can send it to info@fluids.ac.uk by Thursday noon and it will be circulated in the weekly round-up later that day.
A. UKFN MESSAGES
From: Nick Daish, 17/1/19
Subject: Fluids seminars in your department
If your department holds series of talks on any fluids-related topic, we would like to hear from you (info@fluids.ac.uk). Please send us a link to the web page listing the talks; if an explicit page isn't available, you can send us a pdf of the seminar list, which we can then upload to the UKFN website and link to. We would like to put these in a new section on the Talks page https://fluids.ac.uk/talks to give a picture of what's happening across the UK. New RSS feeds of fluids talks, to merge with the existing ones, are still welcome.
On the Talks page you'll also find a growing list of nearly 30 recorded fluids talks on topics as diverse as granular flows, volcanic plumes, vibrating cables and cardiac acoustics.
From: Nick Daish, 17/1/19
Subject: Short Research Visits (Repeat)
The UK Fluids Network runs a Short Research Visit (SRV) scheme, whereby any UK fluids researcher can apply for a small grant to cover travel and subsistence costs to visit another UK researcher or group. Full details on how to apply are given on the SRV page of the UKFN website https://fluids.ac.uk/srv; email any questions to srv@fluids.ac.uk. The deadline for applications is 31 January 2019.
