If you would like to circulate a brief message to the UKFN mailing list ahead of the monthly newsletter, you can send it to info@fluids.ac.uk by Friday noon and it will be circulated in the weekly round-up later that day. A. UKFN MESSAGES
From: Nick Daish, 20/7/18
Subject: UKFN photo/video competition #4
A reminder that a new photo and video competition is running and eagerly awaiting your entries. This time there is no theme, so all fluids-related photos and videos are eligible. See https://fluids.ac.uk/competition for full details.
Competition closing date is 31st July 2018.
From: Nick Daish, 20/7/18
Subject: Short Research Visits
Another reminder, this time about the Short Research Visit scheme. Any UK fluids researcher – PhD student, postdoc, PI, industrial collaborator – can apply for a Short Research Visit grant to spend 1-2 weeks with another researcher or group, and UKFN will cover up to £1000 of your travel, subsistence and accommodation expenses. Previous visits have been used to develop a mathematical model, share an experimental facility or advance a numerical technique.
See https://fluids.ac.uk/srv for full details of how to apply plus examples of past visits.
Deadline for current batch of SRV applications is 31st July 2018.
