UK Fluids Network Newsletter
Issue 9 (10/7/17)
Welcome to Issue 9 of the UK Fluids Network newsletter, a regular summary of the Network's activities and news from the UK Fluids community.
New address for UKFN
The UK Fluids Network has moved to https://fluids.ac.uk, so please start using the new address. Note that https://ukfluids.net currently displays a redirection message and link, but this will transition to automatic redirection over the next month or so.
Publicity for UKFN (Repeat)
Please help us to publicise UKFN by adding links from your website. The UKFN logo, at various sizes, is available for download (https://fluids.ac.uk/about). You can add a link to the UKFN website with, for example,
<a href=”https://fluids.ac.uk/”> <img src=”UKFN_250px.png”> </a>
Photo and video competition, https://fluids.ac.uk/competition (Repeat)
There is still time to enter our photo and video competition with cash prizes for the best new photo and short video on a fluids subject. Full details on how to enter are on the website. Closing date is 31 July 2017.
Researcher Resources, https://fluids.ac.uk/researcher-resources (Repeat)
Researcher resources are now on the website. Please contact us to add new resources.
Short Research Visits, https://fluids.ac.uk/srv
These are open to any UK fluids researcher for a visit of 1-2 weeks within the UK, with up to £1000 per visit available from UKFN.

Joining a SIG
If you want to register interest in a SIG, send an email to the SIG leader, asking them to include you on their circulation list.
Meetings
So far, 28 of the 41 SIG meetings have had their first meetings. We will be distilling best practice guidelines from meeting reports and discussion with SIG leaders.
Keep watching the calendar of SIG meetings https://fluids.ac.uk/sig/calendar, accessible from the map page (top-right corner), for the latest SIG meetings and other UKFN-related events.
ERCOFTAC (http://www.ercoftac.org/) and UKFN
As noted in the last UKFN Newsletter, the ERCOFTAC Quarterly Bulletin is available to UKFN members – please go to http://mailchi.mp/cado-ercoftac/ercoftac-quarterly-newsletter-no-5-june-2017. This edition includes the announcement of UKFN taking over the running of ERCOFTAC’s UK Pilot Centre.
