Chemical Looping Technology for Clean Energy and Chemical Conversion Systems – Commercialization Prospect

L-S. Fan, Ohio State University Cambridge Fluids Network - fluids-related seminars 28 November 2024 1:30pm Lecture Theatre 2, Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, West Cambridge Site Chemical looping in redox operating schemes as a platform technology is a manifestation of the interplay among key elements of metal oxide reaction engineering and particle science and technology. Its concept of applications has been recognized for more than 100 years as a valuable means in the synthesis of fuels and chemicals in industries. There are, however, no chemical looping processes in commercial operations. This presentation will highlight the major advances made in recent years toward the readiness of this technology commercialization for CO2 emission control and production of clean energy and chemicals
