Turbulent Structures on Rear Wing Element of F1 Car —Youssef Elashmawi, David Edwards & Joshua Adams (University of Southampton)

The photo depicts turbulent boundary layers and flow separation over the rear wing of a model open-wheel race car in the RJ Mitchell wind tunnel at the University of Southampton. The freestream velocity is 20m/s and flow-vis oil was used to visualise the flow structures.
